Mission Statement

The Greater Louisville Sports Commission is a non-for-profit organization committed to attracting, creating and hosting sports-related events and opportunities that: have a positive economic impact, enhance the image of the greater Louisville area and/or improve the quality of life for area residents and sports enthusiasts.

I. Economic Impact

Become a nationally recognized "player" and leader in the industry of hosting top quality sports activities that create a substantial positive impact on the local community.

II. Fund Raising

Establish long-term financial stability for the greater Louisville sports commission and adequate levels of sponsorship to support GLSC sponsored / supported activities and events.

III. Developing Brand Image / Reputation for Excellence

Develop a brand image/ reputation for greater Louisville as a premier destination that will provide a first-class, top-notch experience for sports groups, events, conventions, etc.

IV. Collection, Storage and Reporting of Information

Become a central clearinghouse for all information concerning sports facilities and athletic venues, local sports groups, organizations and leaders, sports events and schedules, leagues, camps and instructional opportunities in the greater Louisville area.

V. Local / Community Awareness and Benefit

Establish name recognition and a clear-cut identity. Gain understanding and appreciation for the goals, mission and value of the GLSC and its impact on the community throughout Louisville, Southern Indiana and the state of Kentucky.
