Ford Ironman Louisville, Sunday, August 31
The Ironman experience is one of the most recognized endurance events in the world! With it’s challenging 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile cycling course and the finishing 26.2 marathon run there’s no doubt that the finishers can relish with the recognition of being an Ironman. This years Louisville qualifying event has an expanded field of 2,700 and is quickly approaching the status of being the largest qualifier.
2008 NBL Grand Nationals to Celebrate the History and Future of BMX Racing

NBL GRANDS - USA’s most exciting Championship BMX race will soon take over Derby City BMX Track in Louisville, Kentucky from August 29 – 31. The 2008 NBL Grand National begins only 8 days after the sport makes its thrilling debut at the Olympic Games in Beijing, China and the NBL has planned several new events to celebrate the past, present and future of the sport. The fastest riders from around the world always attend the Grands and this year, the fastest riders from the past will be honored at the NBL Hall Of Fame Awards on Saturday evening.
Coming to Louisville...
October 25th & 26th
The fastest growing cycling discipline in the United States comes to Louisville as part of its national series. Cyclocross is a great spectator sport with racers completing laps every 6-7 minutes thus providing non-stop action. The USGP fields races for all competitors from beginner women, men, juniors to Masters 55 + in addition to the deepest and fastest Pro and Elite Men and Women fields racing in the United States. Over 600 athletes will race each day.

March Madness Rules Basketball Country
Louisville has once again proved it’s love for basketball! For the ninth year in a row, WLKY-TV (Louisville CBS affiliate) has topped the national ratings for the Men’s 2008 NCAA Tournament. WLKY averaged a 21.0 rating and a 36 share for all of the tournament competitions, while Memphis, TN came in a far second place with a rating of 16.9 and a 26 share. Even for the Monday night final game, Memphis vs. Kansas, Louisville came in a close third to Kansas City and Memphis. Basketball is truly the No. 1 priority for Louisville citizens.
