2008 Ford Ironman Louisville: SOLD OUT

Louisville , KY - Over 2,400 hundred slots for the 2008 Ford Ironman Louisville have been filled. The second-annual event, held August 31, 2008, features a 2.4-mile swim in the Ohio River , 112-mile cycle and a marathon, all completed in 17 hours.

Eighteen countries and 48 states will be represented. Kentucky will have the most participants with 210, followed by Indiana with 159 and Ohio with 156, respectively. Illinois, Texas, Michigan, California and Virginia each will be represented by more than 100 participants.

Of the total of 2,479 who have filled the slots, 1,954 of them are men and 525 are women. Internationally, 256 participants are registered.

"We are as excited about the 2008 event as we were the inaugural event," said Diane McGraw, Executive Director of the Greater Louisville Sports Commission. "Ford Ironman Louisville is a wonderful event, and we intend on making it bigger and better for everyone involved each year."
