ACC, Pac-12 Foursome Lead Teams to Wins with Combined 948 Yards, Seven Touchdowns

Louisville, Ky. – September 18, 2017 – Three offensive players and return specialists from the ACC and one from the Pac-12 earned Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll status in Week Three of the season – Sean Riley (Syracuse), Shaun Wilson (Duke), Olamide Zacchaeus (UVA), and Dante Pettis (Washington). The foursome combined for 948 all-purpose yards and seven touchdowns in leading their respective teams to intersectional wins.

WR/RB/DB Returns Specialists Account for 1,200 All-purpose Yards; Scored 11 Times

Louisville, Ky. – September 11, 2017 – Five versatile players representing the SEC, Big Ten, MAC and Mountain West, and who accounted for 11 total touchdowns four different ways and more than 1,200 all-purpose yards, were named to the Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll for Week Two of the college football season. South Carolina’s Deebo Samuel made the list for the second week in a row, and is joined by newcomers Saquon Barkley (Penn State), Rashaad Penny (San Diego State), Darius Phillips (Western Michigan), and Akrum Wadley (Iowa).

Award Given to Most Versatile Player in Major College Football Since 2011

Louisville, Ky. – September 5, 2017 – Three offense players who also ran back kicks and punts – Deebo Samuel from South Carolina, Kalen Ballage from Arizona State, and Nyheim Hines from NC State – earned the Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll for week one of the college football season. The trio combined for six touchdowns that were scored three different ways.

Louisville, Ky. — July 17, 2017 — The Louisville Sports Commission today named 46 multi-talented college football players to the 2017 Watch List for the Paul Hornung Award presented by Texas Roadhouse.

 

The Paul Hornung Award, now in its eighth season, is given annually to the most versatile player in major college football by the Louisville Sports Commission, and football legend and Louisville native Paul Hornung. The winner and his family will be honored at the annual Paul Hornung Award Banquet presented by KentuckyOne Health, to be held at the Galt House Hotel in downtown Louisville on March 7, 2018. This will be The Paul Hornung Award’s second year as an associate member of the prestigious National College Football Awards Association.

Jim Harbaugh and Jeremy Schaap to Present at March 7 Paul Hornung Award Banquet

Event Will Honor Michigan’s Jabrill Peppers as the Most Versatile Player in Major College Football

Louisville, Ky. – February 23, 2017 – University of Michigan Head Football Coach Jim Harbaugh and ABC/ESPN award-winning commentator and celebrated author Jeremy Schaap will be special guests at the seventh annual Paul Hornung Award Banquet sponsored by KentuckyOne Health.

Harbaugh will be the featured speaker and Schaap will be part of the banquet program honoring Michigan’s consensus All-American linebacker Jabrill Peppers, the 2016 Paul Hornung Award winner who played 15 different positions this past season for the Wolverines. The banquet will be held March 7 at the Galt House Hotel in downtown Louisville.
