48 Players Named to the 15th Annual Paul Hornung Award Watch List

Presented by Texas Roadhouse, Award Given to Nation’s Most Versatile Player

Louisville, Ky. – Aug. 1, 2024 – Forty-eight players representing ­­­­nine conferences plus one independent school that compete for the Football Bowl Series have been selected for the 2024 Paul Hornung Award Pre-Season Watch List.

Now in its 15th season, the Paul Hornung Award is given annually to the most versatile player in major college football by the Louisville Sports Commission in memory of the late football legend and Louisville native Paul Hornung. The winner and his family will be honored at the annual Paul Hornung Award dinner in Louisville, Ky., in March 2025.

Louisville Sports Commission Announces New Board Members

Louisville, Ky. – June 26, 2024 – At its annual meeting, the Louisville Sports Commission (LSC) board of directors unanimously approved a slate of officers, committee chairs, and new and re-elected board members for its fiscal year 2025, which begins July 1, 2024. Officers and committee chairs were elected to a one-year term; board members were elected to a three-year term.

William E. Summers V, senior vice president, chief community development officer of Republic Bank, was elected chairman of the board; Dr. Steve Hester, division president provider operations and chief medical officer of Norton Healthcare, vice-chair; Eric Granger, general manager of ASM Global, treasurer; Sheila Hiestand, partner at McCoy & Hiestand PLC, secretary; and Leigh Ann Barney, president of Trilogy Health Services, immediate past chair.

Four Outstanding Individuals Selected to Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2024

Selections Represent Basketball, Football and Media

Louisville, Ky. – May 1, 2024 – Four individuals with strong Kentucky connections who have made outstanding contributions to sports in the Commonwealth and beyond have been selected for the Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame (KSHOF) Class of 2024.

The announcement was made today at a press briefing as part of Champions Day at Churchill Downs by the Louisville Sports Commission, the owners and operators of the KSHOF.

Louisville Sports Commission Golden Ticket Winner Drawn on WDRB News

Louisville, Ky. – April 30, 2024 – Marc Kennedy is the winner of the Louisville Sports Commission’s 14th annual Golden Ticket raffle. Candyce Clifft, WDRB News anchor, drew Kennedy’s ticket this morning from the backside of Churchill Downs.

Kennedy purchased one of 350 available raffle tickets for $100 and won the Golden Ticket grand prize, which consists of two tickets to each of the following sporting events:
