Louisville, KY – January 22, 2020 – AllMid, an esports event producer, and the Louisville Sports Commission (LSC) have partnered to create the inaugural ACE Esports Championship that will take place April 18 – 19 on the University of Louisville campus. ACE is the first-of-its-kind, student-focused esports event ever held in the region where both collegiate and high school players will face off at a live esports competition.

Louisville, Ky. – January 8, 2020 – The Louisville Sports Commission is accepting nominations for the Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame fueled by the Kentucky Lottery (KSHOF) through March 13, 2020. Eligibility and selection criteria and the nomination form can be accessed online at KySportsHOF.com.
Nominations received by March 13 that meet the Selection Criteria will be placed in a pool with previous submissions for consideration for the KSHOF Class of 2020.

Title Fight is Feature on Six-Bout Card at Louisville Memorial Auditorium
Louisville, Ky. – January 7, 2020 – Louisville professional boxer Carlos Dixon (age 22, 10-1, 8 KOs) will defend his World Boxing Council (WBC) Junior Super Featherweight title on Jan. 18 against Mexico’s Luis Ronaldo Castillo, (age 21, 21-5, 16 KOs). The eight-round bout is presented by Uprising Promotions and will be held at historic Louisville Memorial Auditorium, marking the first boxing card to take place inside the venue.

Award Presented Annually Since 2010 to Most Versatile Player in Major College Football
Louisville, Ky. – December 11, 2019 – University of Kentucky junior Lynn Bowden Jr., a prolific all-purpose receiver and return specialist who led the Wildcats to a 5-2 record while filling in at quarterback, has been named winner of the 10th annual Paul Hornung Award presented by Texas Roadhouse. The Louisville Sports Commission and Paul Hornung present the award to the most versatile player in major college football.
