Trio of Versatile Wide Receivers Named to Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll in Week 10

Louisville, KY – Monday, November 3, 2014 – Nelson Agholor (USC), Pharoh Cooper (South Carolina) and Jamarcus Nelson (UAB) combined for 747 all-purpose yards and scored three different ways in hard-fought conference games as each player earned the Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll for the first time during the 2014 college football season.

The announcement was made by the Louisville Sports Commission, owners and operators of the Paul Hornung Award, presented by Texas Roadhouse and given annually to the most versatile player in major college football. The winner and his family will be honored on January 27, 2015, at a banquet presented by KentuckyOne Health at the Galt House Hotel and Suites in downtown Louisville.

Paul Hornung Award Week Nine Honor Roll

Louisville, KY – Monday, October 27, 2014 – Based on outstanding performances in week nine, running back Ameer Abdullah (Nebraska) and linebacker/running back Nick Vigil (Utah State) each earned Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll recognition for the third time this season, while quarterback Patrick Towles (Kentucky) made the list the first time.

Paul Hornung Award Week Eight Honor Roll

Louisville, KY – Monday, October 20, 2014 – A  pair of running backs who were also workhorses on special teams and a quarterback who passed, ran and caught while leading his team to a signature conference win were named to the Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll following week eight of the college football season. Running back Marcus Murphy of Missouri earned the Honor Roll for the second time while Purdue back Raheem Mostert and Pitt QB Chad Voytik earned the honor for the first time this season.

Eagles’ CB Brandon Boykin Faces Giants’ WR Odell Beckham Sunday Night in Philly

Louisville, KY – Friday, October 10, 2014 – Two former Paul Hornung Award winners – Philadelphia Eagles slot corner Brandon Boykin and New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. – square off Sunday night in Philadelphia in a huge NFL – NFC East Division contest. Third-year NFL player Boykin is a key member of the Eagles’ nickle and dime package defense, matching up inside against opponents’ slot receivers. Beckham, a rookie, saw his first action in the NFL last week following a pre-season hamstring injury. He caught four passes for 44 yards and the game-winning TD in the Giants’ win over Atlanta.
